The Annual General Meeting of WALS 2021

The Annual General Meeting of WALS 2021 will be held during the last day of the conference on the 2nd December, watch out for the agenda and invitation on the WALS website once the programme for the day has been finalised.

All current members of WALS are entitled to attend and vote at this meeting and this year you will be able to vote for a new President of WALS from 2022 as Dr Pete Dudley ends his term in December.

All members of WALS are also able to nominate members for election to the Council. The constitution notes that they should be:

“Of good standing such as researchers and practitioners who actively contribute to the scientific development and practice-based development of Lesson Studies and are instrumental in promoting the scalability and sustainability of Lesson Studies in their respective countries.”

We are particularly looking for new members to represent countries currently unrepresented on the Council, particularly in the Southern hemisphere.

All members are also able to nominate the new President of WALS from January 2022. If you would like to nominate a member to become President or a potential Councillor for consideration by the current Council, please email kim@walsnet.org who will send you a nomination form which you must return on or before the 21st November. If elected, the term of office for Councillors would initially be for one year as the three-year term for all Council members ends in December 2022.

The AGM agenda will include lots of interesting information about past and future events as well as the work of the PhD and Early Career Researchers group, the IJLLS and the WALS-Routledge book series and will give you an opportunity to ask questions and help to shape the organisation in the future.

Please join us and play your part in shaping the future organisation.
